X15N Program

Kenworth announced the launch of the Cummins X15N Engine, with production beginning in Summer 2024. The X15N is the industry’s first large bore Natural Gas-powered engine and will be offered first in PACCAR products.

Product Highlights

The X15N is the first of its kind and represents the introduction of the Next Generation Global 15 Liter platform from Cummins. Highlights of the X15N according to Cummins are outlined below:

• 15L Power and Torque – Ratings up to 500HP/1850lbft
• Fuel and Efficiency Benefits – Up to 10% Fuel Economy gain over ISX12N
• Compatible with both Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fuel Systems
• Flexible for Line Haul and Vocational Applications
•  Meets CARB 2024 Ultra Low NOx Regulations
  • 90% Reduction in NOx and Particulate Matter over current EPA Standard
  • 16% CO2 equivalent reduction from EPA standard
• Pairs with Eaton 12 Speed Endurant HD N* and Allison 4000 Series Transmission
• Extended Service Intervals over ISX12N
• Spark ignition, similar to ISX12N/L9N and B6.7N
• Weight Savings Over Both ISX12N And X15 Diesel
• Improved Responsiveness over ISX12N
