Promoting Diversity and Inclusivity in the Trucking Industry
Rihm Family Companies is proud to be a woman-owned truck dealership dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the trucking industry. Rihm Women's Association: Leading the Way for Women in Trucking
The Rihm Women's Association is at the heart of our efforts to empower women in the trucking industry. By providing a supportive network and advocating for women's advancement, we aim to break down barriers and create opportunities for women at all levels of our organization. Our association offers professional development workshops and networking events designed to help women excel in their careers and make meaningful contributions to the trucking industry.
Equity as a Core Value
At Rihm Family Companies, equity is one of our four core values, guiding how we operate and interact with our team members, customers, and community. We are committed to providing fair treatment and opportunities for everyone, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected. Our equity initiatives focus on creating a level playing field, where talent and hard work are recognized and rewarded, regardless of gender, race, or background.
Supporting Women in Trucking
As a 100% woman-owned Kenworth dealer, we are passionate about supporting women in trucking. We understand the unique challenges women face in this traditionally male-dominated industry, and we are dedicated to creating a professional pathway for women to succeed. We celebrate and support the contributions of women across all areas of our business.
Creating an Inclusive Culture
Inclusivity is at the core of our culture at Rihm Family Companies. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential for driving innovation and achieving our business goals. Our inclusive initiatives ensure that everyone feels valued and included, fostering a sense of belonging and community. We are committed to continuous improvement, regularly reviewing our policies and practices to ensure they promote inclusivity and equity.
The Rihm Women's Association
To help promote women in trucking, the Rihm team developed the Rihm Women's Association (RWA).The RWA is a women’s resource group designed to recognize the contributions of female employees; help women expand their professional network and develop leadership skills; address workplace challenges for women; and encourage and promote more women in trucking with engagement both within the company and in the community.
RWA membership is complimentary, and all new Rihm team members are encouraged to join.
Rihm has locations across Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota, so being inclusive and ensuring everyone has access to our RWA meetings and events is important. Most of our meetings have a virtual option and we record them for playback, so if someone cannot make it in person, they aren't missing out on the content. All recordings are available for replay any time.
In addition to the RWA, Rihm also offers to pay for Women in Trucking Association memberships for its team members.
RWA Goals:
- Create strategies that improve female employee engagement within Rihm and the trucking industry.
- Identify and provide training and development opportunities for women to advance their careers and demonstrate leadership.
- Work to resolve discrimination and harassment and provide a more inclusive environment for women at Rihm.
- Create a work environment that ensures women have equal access to opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
