Truck Dealer of the Year: Parting thoughts...
The ATD Truck Dealer of the Year represents all truck dealers, not solely their own nameplate. It’s a different relationship, where competition is not the point. Preserving and improving our collective ability to grow our businesses is the focus.
Being nominated is a big deal. Being named is an incredible honor, opportunity and responsibility. Congratulations to all the nominees; you all represent our industry so well.
On the afternoon of Friday, Feb. 2 at ATD Show 2024 in Las Vegas, ATD, Trucks, Parts, and Service and Procede Software will announce the winner of the 2024 Truck Dealer of the Year.
It’s an honor for the dealer who is selected as the winner because their profile as a business professional has been recognized as worthy of celebration and they will represent the commercial truck industry with integrity.
The 2024 Truck Dealer of the Year has the opportunity to engage with OEMs, lawmakers and policymakers and students who will comprise the workforce of the future. Access to these audiences provides exposure to our roles in supporting the essential trucking industry.
It’s an important responsibility because the ATD members rely on the winner to advocate for our industry, educate decisionmakers and future members of the workforce on opportunities in truck dealerships, and to elevate the status of our industry to the general public.
The time I have spent in this role has been a gift. Although I gave time attending ATD board meetings, presenting Dealer Attitude Survey results, addressing students at the Kelly School of Business, and attending legislative fly-ins, I believe I have received more than I have given as I have learned and made connections and felt welcomed and appreciated with every engagement. It has indeed been an honor, an opportunity, and a responsibility these past two years. Thank you!
And if you’re in Las Vegas for the upcoming 2024 ATD Show, please join us on Friday, Feb. 2 from 4-5pm at the Wynn where the next Truck Dealer of the Year will be named. I look forward to seeing you there!
