Introduced in 1949, the model-T saw great success in the intercity and school transportation markets. With the later CT model, passenger safety was enhanced thanks to the first roof-mounted hatch ever featured on a bus. Escape hatches of this style are now a safety standard. Seating capacity ranged from 55 to 79 passengers. At peak production, Kenworth produced over 375 buses per year.

Visibility

The two windows below the main windshield gave the driver great visibility to pedestrians and other potential hazards in front of the vehicle. 1949 Kenworth “Bruck”: A bus-truck combination made to carry personnel and freight. This Cargo-Coach was produced in very small numbers.
